The Central Office for Academic Services as a structural subunit of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University was established in 2015 on the basis of the Methodological Office of Ternopil Medical Institute organized in 1972.
L.I. Vorontsova, M.M. Borovskykh, A.O. Kyiashko, A.D. Buzko, N.I. Tkachuk worked at the Methodological Office at that time. Today the Central Office for Academic Services is headed by O.Yu. Nakonechna.
The Central Office for Academic Services of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University in its affairs follow the Constitution of Ukraine, the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education”, resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ministry of Health Of Ukraine, the Central Methodical Office on Higher Medical Education, the Charter of the University.
The main tasks of the office as a reference unit of the Academic Office are: organization of educational process at the university; development of new forms of educational documentation; organization and holding of advanced trainings for university teachers.
The employees of the Central Office for Academic Services develop, collect and store informational, educational, normative materials, as well as reports. A database containing didactic and visual materials on academic disciplines taught at the university, as well as printed materials by the university teachers has been developed at the Office to ensure the educational process at the University.
The functions of the Office are: organization of and over continuing education of the university teaching and academic staff and referral of the research and teaching staff to advanced trainings.
Today all normative documentation concerning organization of the educational process, departmental, specialized, normative and methodological materials of various functional groups of documents concerning development and reorganization of medical education in Ukraine are represented at the Central Office for Academic Services of the University. The employees of the Office provide the university students and post-graduate students with detailed extracts on their studies.
The employees of the Central Office for Academic Services together with the Academic Office and the Department for Internal Assurance of Higher Education Quality monitor the affairs of the university departments according the main provisions of corresponding structural units.
